This is one of the most incredible wave photos I have ever taken, and one that happened in the first hour of being awake. when I try to rationalise why I label this as one of my best, the time from waking is just one of the factors that comes into consideration, the biggest, is that this is a 50 mm lens image and I was glued to the water housing looking through the camera viewfinder. This will be 1 of 3 images release in this collection. these images make me lose sense of scale, the sculptural form, clean water, sense of thickness and width of the cavern, all after hurriedly waking up jumping straight in the car and driving 30 minutes down the coast to a secluded beach, throwing wetsuit on, camera in the housing hoping its all sealed correctly, then running 10 minutes up a beach to some of the most ridiculous shorebreak that would rival the famous Keiki Shorebreak on the North Shore of Oahu...
